Flat Beach: Fewer students attend Georgia-Florida celebration

Upon arriving at East Beach on St. Simons Island Friday, University of Georgia students were greeted by minions and aliens, rows of porta potties, Episcopal clergymen, environmental conservationists and a wall of police officers.

But unlike last year, 3,000 fewer people were among those arriving at the annual party that precedes the Georgia-Florida rivalry matchup, often known as Frat Beach.

Lack of acceptance, historical migration limits Muslim presence in Czech Republic

For the second time on May 27, the Czech government rejected quotas suggested by the European Commission, which would have brought about 500 refugees in from war-torn countries — many of whom are predominantly Muslim.

Access Denied: Historic preservation trumps accessibility?

No one sat next to Carden Wyckoff in her biochemistry class last semester.

Wyckoff, who has muscular dystrophy, sat alone because there wasn't an accessible seat in the Davidson Life Sciences Complex lecture hall for her to sit alongside her classmates.
